Nara Marathon

How to enter

The guidelines state that overseas residents must apply via a separate method announced on the official race website. However, bib pickup is in-person only on December 12, making overseas participation effectively very difficult.

Entry platform

RUNNET (runnet.jp) is used for domestic entries, but overseas residents are directed to a different unspecified method.

What you need

Runners must be born on or before April 1, 2008 (for marathon). Ability to finish within 5h30m is required. Nationality and name in Roman alphabet must be entered at registration (for Wanda Age Group World Rankings).

Payment

Credit card or convenience store payment via RUNNET. Entry fee for marathon is ¥13,500–¥15,000 plus a handling fee (6% for amounts over ¥4,000).

Bib pickup

In-person only at the venue (Rohto Nara Konoike Park) on December 12 (Saturday), 10:00–20:00. No advance mailing of bibs. Runners cannot start without completing this pickup.

Entry period

Nara residents' quota: May 27 – June 4, 2026. General quota: June 5 – July 9, 2026 (or until capacity is reached). Payment deadline is mid-July 2026.

Notes

The race guidelines explicitly state that overseas residents must apply via a separate method to be announced on the official website — not through RUNNET. However, since bib pickup is strictly in-person on December 12 with no alternative, overseas runners must be present in Japan on that date.
