Data Collection Policy

DATA POLICY

Last updated: 2026-06-10

hashiru.jp (operated by Stride Inc.) crawls publicly available web pages to aggregate information about running races across Japan. This page explains why and how we collect data, and how to request removal or correction.

1. Our crawler (HashiruBot)

Our crawler identifies itself with the following User-Agent on every request. If you see this string in your access logs, the access is from our service.

HashiruBot/1.0 (+https://hashiru.jp/data-policy)

2. Purpose

We collect basic race information (name, date, location, venue, events, entry fee, capacity, time limit, official URL) so runners can search races across Japan. We do not sell collected data or provide it to third parties.

3. How we crawl

  • We respect robots.txt. Pages disallowed by the site are never accessed
  • Requests to the same site are spaced at least 1.5 seconds apart
  • Sources are official race websites and public directories (Wikipedia, race association listings)
  • We do not collect from entry portals or other commercial services
  • We do not scrape social media (Instagram, X, etc.)
  • Update frequency adapts to each race's status (weekly to quarterly); unnecessary re-crawls are automatically suppressed

4. How content is displayed

  • Course descriptions are summarized or structured — never reproduced verbatim
  • Event logos and photos of individuals are not used
  • Every race page links back to the official website as the source

5. Removal and correction requests (for organizers)

This service operates on an opt-out model. To request removal, correction, or crawl exclusion for your event, please use the contact form.

  • First response within 3 business days
  • We aim to complete requests within 5 business days
  • Removed races are recorded and never automatically re-listed by future crawls

This policy may be updated as our operations improve.
