How to enter

Overseas runners can enter via the furusato nozei (hometown tax donation) quota, open to residents outside Okinawa Prefecture (including overseas), or via general internet entry. Entry is online only.

Entry platform

Sports Entry (スポーツエントリー) is used for the furusato nozei quota entries; general entry platform not explicitly named on the page.

What you need

Open to anyone aged 16+ regardless of nationality. Furusato nozei quota requires a donation (¥37,000) to one of five municipalities and is limited to those residing outside Okinawa Prefecture. Minors (under 18) need parental consent.

Payment

General entry fee is ¥11,000 (standard), ¥9,000 for age 65+ or high school students. Furusato nozei entry requires a ¥37,000 donation (entry fee included). No refunds after registration.

Bib pickup

Bibs are collected in person at the athlete check-in on 5 December 2026 (10:00–20:00) at Ounoyama Park, Kenritsu Budokan Arena. A bib notification letter is mailed in late November and must be brought to check-in. In-person pickup is required.

Entry period

Furusato nozei quota: 8–30 June 2026. General entry: 1–31 July 2026 (first-come, first-served, capacity 30,000).

On race day

Medical and rescue teams are on course; emergency first aid is provided. Retirement buses are available for runners who cannot continue, but ambulances are reserved for medical emergencies only.

Notes

Because bib pickup is in person only, overseas runners must be in Okinawa on 5 December 2026. The furusato nozei route is technically available to overseas residents but involves a Japanese tax donation process. Confirm eligibility and practicalities with the organiser before entering.
