Entering from overseas

INBOUND

Open to overseas runners

How to enter

Overseas runners must enter via Run Japan (overseas entry site); a dedicated overseas quota of 300 spots is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Entry platform

Run Japan (overseas entry platform)

What you need

Must be resident overseas. Minimum age: born on or before April 1, 2007. Must be able to finish the full marathon within 6 hours 40 minutes.

Payment

Entry fee is ¥20,000 for overseas runners, plus a Run Japan processing fee of 14% of the total payment (approximately ¥2,800), totalling around ¥22,800.

Bib pickup

Bib pickup (runner check-in) is in-person only at Hanabatake Hiroba (Kumamoto city centre) on February 13 (12:00–20:00) or February 14 (10:00–20:00). No race-day pickup. Face recognition is used; proxy collection is not permitted.

Entry period

Entry open July 29, 2025 (10:00) to September 24, 2025 (17:00), or until the 300-place overseas quota is filled.

Notes

Because bib pickup is in-person only on the two days before the race and proxy collection is not allowed, overseas runners must travel to Kumamoto by February 13. Lottery results for domestic entrants are announced around October 15 via RUNNET; overseas quota is first-come, first-served with no lottery.
